Yellowknife Food and Agriculture Strategy | City of Yellowknife

Urban Food Strategies worked with the City of Yellowknife to develop its first Food and Urban Agriculture Strategy. UFS engaged diverse stakeholders using multiple methods including on-line tools, survey, interviews, and group meetings in identifying issues and opportunities as well as reviewing the draft plan. As part of this process, UFS met with Indigenous leaders and community members to better understand Indigenous perspectives on food, culture, health, and healing as well as potential areas of common interest that the plan could address. Consideration of parks, open spaces, streets, and rights of way were considered and strategies for increasing food assets formed recommendations in the plan. Deliverables including engagement summaries, interim reports, plan document, display boards, participant feedback forms, meeting agendas, one-pagers, and slide decks.
